[Important Announcement] Please Stay Alert and Beware of Lottery Scams
Dear supporters:
Recently, we have discovered that a large number of small donations have been transferred into our organization’s account, ranging from NT$35 to NT$100, with notes such as “shipping fee” or “lottery”.
After consulting with 165 and the police, we learned that there are currently criminals conducting lottery scams through Instagram or other social media platforms, or sending private messages notifying people that they have won prizes. They ask people to make charitable donations first in order to gain their trust, and then further induce them to provide personal information or pay additional fees.
Dr. Red Nose has been exploited as the target of this “charitable donation” component.
We solemnly declare:
- Dr. Red Nose will never request donations in the name of a lottery or prize winnings, nor have we authorized any organization or individual to use donations to Dr. Red Nose as part of a lottery procedure.
- We will not request personal information or payments through personal accounts, private messages, LINE, or any other unofficial channels.
We would also like to remind everyone once again, to prevent fraud:
❌ Any request to “make a charitable donation” or pay a processing fee in order to claim a prize is a scam!
❌ Do not trust messages from unknown sources, provide personal information or account details, or click on suspicious links
❌ If you receive a suspicious message, please immediately call the 165 Anti-Fraud Hotline or contact the police
