Dr. Red Nose’s Diary – A Touring Smile Dandelion

“The moment the music begins, the air is gently kneaded open, and the heavy atmosphere suddenly comes alive.”

During the Children’s Day tour, we visited many medical institutions, and in quite a few places, it was their first time meeting Dr. Red Nose. At each location, the enthusiasm of the medical staff, the children’s laughter, and even the moments when parents briefly relaxed all made us feel that hospitals do not have to be filled only with heaviness and anxiety.

We are not specifically trying to turn hospitals into amusement parks. Rather, we often find ourselves wondering: Hospitals are always so tense—why can’t they be filled with laughter?

As Dr. Red Nose move through wards, hallways, and waiting areas, these spaces are not merely places where treatment takes place; they can also become corners where the spirit can catch its breath. Of course, not everyone can immediately accept this change. Some parents still sit in their chairs with worried expressions, while medical staff remain busy at work, with no time to look up at our performance.

But this is precisely the meaning of our existence—to seek out those who are willing to accept companionship and gently loosen the heaviness here with laughter. Through humor, music, and interaction, we bring a different kind of atmosphere to the wards. When the atmosphere changes, everyone in the space can be touched by its warmth.

Along the way, we completed one tour after another, using laughter and connection to change everything we can change. We thank every association partner for their efforts, our comrades who fought alongside us, and, most of all, those who were willing to share these moments with us.
